Late October interviews

Most postgraduate interviews (GEMSAS universities) take place between September and October.

Flinders also undertake interviews for their graduate medicine program between 20 September and 1st October.

Interviews for undergraduate programs commence later than postgraduate interviews. Charles Sturt/Western Sydney and the University of New England/University of Newcastle advise applicants of their interview status in late October.

Late October offers

October signals offers for Indigenous postgraduates from Flinders. Offers to other cohorts are then provided all the way through to February. The University of Melbourne issue offers to offshore international applicants from mid to late October with on-shore applicants receiving their offers in late October.

Late October deadlines

By the 31st the University of Newcastle/New England have closed their Indigenous applications and the University of Sydney close applications for international undergraduate study that leads to medicine. The new Schools Recommendation Program at UTAS close applications at the end of October.

November interviews

Western Sydney undertake Indigenous interviews during November. Charles Sturt undertake interviews also in November. University of New South Wales undertake rural interviews from November through to December. By early November applicants for the University of Newcastle/University New England joint medical program will know their fate in terms of whether they have received an offer to attend an interview.

The University of Queensland interview Indigenous applicants for the Medicine Admission Pathways on 9th November. By the 12th James Cook are emailing invitations to attend interviews. Monash interview onshore international applicants between the 19th and 22nd. Curtin undertake their undergraduate interviews from late November into early December. During this time UWA are interviewing WA-based applicants.

University of Newcastle/University of New England, University of Queensland for international applicants, Monash University for Malaysian offshore Monash University Foundation Year December completion applicants, CQ University and Charles Sturt/Western Sydney all undertake interviews in the latter part of November.

Postgraduate November offers

November is the time for postgraduate offers, with the month starting with a bang with offers issued by GEMSAS postgraduate universities (starting early November). Macquarie note their acceptance responses are due 1 week after the offer is made.

The University of Melbourne issues postgraduate offers during early to mid November and these similarly have a short acceptance turnaround time. University of Wollongong also issue their first round offers

Late November deadlines

School Leavers Predicted ATARs need to be provided by the relevant School Principal to Curtin Medical School by the 3rd November. Rural applicants to Monash have until the 5th November to apply for the Dean’s Rural List. By the 8th November University of Melbourne international applicants with unconditional offers need to accept their offers and pay their deposit. This is also the offshore international applicant deadline to meet any offer conditions.

At UNSW, the 30th November is the last day for international students not sitting Australian or New Zealand Year 12 examinations to lodge applications with UNSW Admissions. It is also the last day for international applicants to submit their UNSW Medicine Application Form. Additionally it is the last day to submit UNSW SCATS (if applicable) applications.

The end of November signals the deadline for students who want to apply for the Bachelor of Philosophy as a pathway to medicine at ANU.
